Rollerblade Crossfire TFS Inline Skates Review

Rollerblade Crossfire TFS Inline SkatesI didn't buy these from amazon, but I wanted to write a review to level out the terrible one star review the previous person gave these skates. Their great skates if you're just interested in fitness skating. The included bearings are a little weak (SG7's) and I would recommend that you step up toABEC 9's if you want to get any more speed out of them. The wheels are pretty good, 82mm (size) 82A (hardness). For those who don't know, the hardness rating (durometer) tells you how hard the wheels are. Extremely soft wheels, such as 78A's, will be best for riding on rough concrete. The softness will help the skates absorb bumps and make for a more comfortable ride at the cost of speed. Extremely hard wheels, such as 90A's, are better suited to skating indoors. The harder the wheels, the faster (and rougher) the ride. These skated meet in the middle, but may leave much to be desired if you're looking for speed. The TFS fastening system is amazing. One pull on the disk and your skates are perfectly tightened. The mechanism seems very sturdy, I haven't had any problems. The skates also have a ratcheting buckle system. If you've ever had skates that have the buckle strap around the ankle, you know how much of a pain it can be to get it tight. The Crossfire TFS are great skates for intermediate skater; a great stepping stone toward the Radical 90's or other speed skates.

K2 Il Capo Mens Inline Skates Review

K2 Il Capo Mens Inline SkatesIf you're reading this, stop. Order now. These are the most comfortable skates ever made. I've been skating for well over 15 years and have used many skates. I skate aggro and play hockey so I usually have two different pairs. Aggro skates have small hard wheels which are great for the application but too slick for the hockey rink. These skates are the perfect combo.

Rollerblade Astro 50 Inline Skates Review

Rollerblade Astro 50 Inline Skates*** 2 month update:One Star, now.Frame rivets are showing significant fatigue.I know I skate hard, but I expect better. What good are they, if the frames are loose or unstable? ***

In my opinion, this is one of the best skates for the price, but it's still got some drawbacks.

Pros:Comfortable with less solid plastic, 82A wheels are harder than most that come with skates, aluminum frames.

Cons:Sticks can get stuck in the metal crossbar on the frame.Brake support is hard to remove, and those dipwads at Rollerblade don't include an extra axle.Only come with 80mm wheels.(compatable with 84mm wheels)

Advice:The insert that comes with the skate is junk.(Aren't they all.)Put in a good, solid flat insert. This will also keep the inner boot from slipping out of the frame.(Inner boots are removeable for faster drying.)

Rollerblade Spiritblade III Inline Skates Review

Rollerblade Spiritblade III Inline SkatesThese skates didn't quite last two days.I purchased the size 13 skates, because normally I wear a size 14 shoe and when I tried the 13's on (the largest size most inline skate companies seem to produce) they seemed to fit nicely. And the first time I took the skates out for a trial run, they seemed to be great!I was very happy to have found these skates.

Unfortunately, the second time I took them out for a skate on the local bike path (the same route I skated the first day), I noticed that the right skate suddenly felt loose, and that I had no right-ankle support. After stopping and inspecting the skate, I found that the top buckle-in support strap wouldn't stay closed, making that skate much too loose for wear. It's hard to describe here, but the mechanism that's supposed to hold that strap tight rests on an unbelievably tiny hook, fastened in by a correspondingly unbelievably tiny piece of plastic. This mechanism had apparently broken or failed in the course of 48 hours of use.I've since returned the skates, my search for quality inline skates in my size continues, and I strongly recommend against this particular model.

Triple Eight Brainsaver Rubber Skateboard Helmet Review

Triple Eight Brainsaver Rubber Skateboard HelmetBesides the fact this helmet is pink and matches my hair. I love this helmet because it fits me PERFECTLY! I wear this in a small and it fits my head perfect. I wear a medium in protec helmets, but the medium is a tad big and the Smalls were a tad small. So I am stoked to have this helmet. I can wear sunglasses with this Triple 8 helmet and it does not pinch my head or my ears. I upgraded and got the sweatsaver band padding in my helmet...which they do not offer in the pink. I am glad to upgraded...on hot summer days the sweatsaver...saves me from a sweaty face. I have bashed my head with this helmet on in the skate park, face planted with it in dirt and grass. It has saved my head so many times and I have loved this helmet so very much. It is so comfortable I never notice I am wearing it and never feel dumb or lame wearing this either.

Razor Skateboard Youth Pro Pad Set (Black) Review

Razor Skateboard Youth Pro Pad SetI bought the youth pro pad set (for ages 8 to 14) to accompany a ripstick my 10 year old son received for Christmas.Overall, the pads are great. They are sturdy and will protect your child when or if they fall.

However, my son is skinny, therefore, he swims in these pads. The elbow pads, if worn as elbow pads, cover his whole arm and they look extremely huge on his small body. Therefore, the elbow pads fit better as knee pads. The knee pads will also work for his knees, so I guess he got two sets of knee pads for Christmas.

I gave the pad set three stars because I feel they could have been more specific in the description of the product, however, they are very protective of my sons knees.

Each pad is built to soften the blow from pavement and other hard surfaces, with extra-thick foam cushion interiors for comfort, hard plastic slideable caps on the exteriors to help deflect impacts, and full elastic sleeves to align the pads with your joints. The pads' flex Velcro straps, meanwhile, offer full freedom of movement while still fastening the pads securely in place. The pads even absorb sweat thanks to the soft fleece lining. This set of youth pro pads is intended for kids between the ages of 8 and 14 years old.

Chicago Women's Rink Skate Review

Chicago Women's Rink SkateWe ordered this product in a size 8 and when we received it, it was marked size 8 but it was easily a normal size 10. We had to pay to ship it back and exchange it for a smaller size, when there should have been an advisory that the skates run extremely large. It cost $19 dollars to ship it back for the exchange in addition to the original cost of the skates plus shipping.Other than that the skates are true to the description and are very cute. Therefore the skates actually cost $69 instead of $50 (including shipping).

Skorpion Sports Quadline Street Skates Review

Skorpion Sports Quadline Street SkatesThe quadlines are great for recreational outdoor skating. The 10mm large wheels roll over uneven pavement with ease. The shocks provide a smooth ride. The extra wide trucks provide lots of stability, on the other hand make it difficult to make tight turns. The right skate has two back brakes, similar to inline skates (regular quad skates have front brakes), making stops easy.

You will get a lot of attention in these as they definitely look cool and unconventional. I get stopped all the time when I'm skating on these by people asking questions about them. Some of the comments I've gotten were: Cool, these are like cars for your feet!

In summary, if you're looking to skate outdoors recreationally these are the skates for you. If you're looking to skate for fitness, these are NOT for you. You will not get much of a leg or cardio workout with these. I've skated up and down hill with these and didn't even break a sweat.

K2 Radical 100 Unisex Training Skate Review

K2 Radical 100 Unisex Training SkateI would consider myself an above average skater, but less than average fitness wise.

I love these skates, I purchased them last year, the first two skates took some getting used to due to the shorter boot, but after that I was flying.

I did take the time to heat mold the boots, which I probably shouldn't have done. Ever since the heat molding the right boot causes problems with my ankle bone, the strap presses against it in an odd way.

I will probably buy the 2008 model and sell my 2007 models as I think the 2k8s have a diffent upper boot/strap setup.

Great skates for someone who has skated for quite a while and looking to take the next step. Probably not good for a beginner who doesn't have much ankle strength.

Product Description:
K2 compares the Radical 100 skate to a German sports car, and it's easy to see why. Combining state-of-the-art technology, sleek styling, and an unmatched fit, the Radical 100 takes inline skating to a whole new level of performance. The skate includes all the features of its Radical 90 cousin, including a marathon cuff, a standard lace, and two ratcheting buckles, but adds K2's Four Hundred Longmount Frame--designed for racers and skaters who like to go fast--and extra-large 100 mm Star Grip poured wheels and ILQ-9 bearings. The end result is a skate that burns up the pavement while still responding beautifully to turns and other maneuvers. Whether you're going on a long training skate, competing in a marathon, or sprinting to the finish, the Radical 100 makes an ideal choice. The Radical 100, which comes in a variety of sizes (6.0 to 13.0), is backed by a one-year warranty.
About K2
In February of 1961 the first pair of fiberglass skis was produced by brothers Bill and Don Kirschner in their Vashon Island, Washington shop. The Kirschners, avid skiers, built fiberglass animal cages for medical use and were convinced that their process could build a ski that was lighter, stronger, and more lively than the wood and metal skis of the day. They really just wanted to build some cool skis for themselves and their friends. And the rest, as they say, is history. Much has changed since those early days on sleepy Vashon Island, but one thing has not: K2 is still a bunch of adrenaline junkies who just want to make some cool stuff for themselves and their friends.

Today, K2 Inc. is a premier, branded consumer products company with a portfolio of leading brands including Shakespeare and Stearns for marine and outdoor products, Rawlings and Worth for team sports, K2 and Brass Eagle for action sports, and Marmot and Ex Officio for apparel and footwear. K2's diverse products includes fishing, watersports activities, baseball, softball, alpine skiing, snowboarding, and inline skating.

Chicago Ladies Rink Roller Skates Review

Chicago Ladies Rink Roller SkatesI was tired of the rental skates and wanted to be able to zip around the floor with my kids at the skating rink.So I bought these skates. At the time, it felt a little impulsive to spend so much on skates.Well, now I know I should have spent more and at least be happy with what I purchased.

I had such a hard time skating with these skates, and when I talked to the guy at the pro shop and 2 people online (there are a lot of resources online-do a search for quad skates) I realized these skates were made for beginning kids, never a 36 year old mom! They are not made to do the kind of things on the floor you think you might be able to do.In fact, I couldn't even turn.I kept having to push off because they would slow down.I kept adjusting them and had a professional at the rink adjust them for me, and forget it!I'm selling them at the resale shop and spending more money to at least get something decent.

Rollerblade Women's Spark 80W Skate Review

Rollerblade Women's Spark 80W SkateFirst pair of skates purchased after 15 years and they are pretty comfortable.Skated for 2 hours and no foot pain!I wanted a faster skate but decide to get these b/c the boot was comfortable -I could always change the bearings later on.why 4 stars?the foot bed is thin and offers very little arch support, I will most likely change them.& the brake offers no stopping support.I'm a pretty good skater and tried to skate home from the park in these and the brake just wouldn't slow me down enough to not go crashing into parked cars.Maybe I don't know how to use the brake, I still miss the old school roller skate rubber stop. However these skates are pretty fast and are comfortable.I would recommend them to anyone looking for new inline skates.
p.s. I bought mine at a brick and mortar store and paid 30$ more than listed on amazon. There was no customer service and limited selection.

K2 Radical Pro In-Line Skates Review

K2 Radical Pro In-Line SkatesThey look like 5 star out of the box. The shoes have a great mix of materials. Carbon for stiffness, mesh for breathability and leather to look precius.
Nevertheless, after about 300 miles the mesh has holes, the carbon shaft has cut into the fabric below and the coated leather is flaking at stressed parts of the shoe tongues.
The quality of this shoes is just embarrassing for a brand like K2.

K2 Radical 90 Men's In-Line Skates Review

K2 Radical 90 Men's In-Line SkatesFor the price they seem like a good deal. I have some concern about the life of this product & feel I can see where separation might occure. I am dissapointed that you can not buy the higher end K2's in a local store though. I have found you have to buy them online which means they may NOT fit you since you do not get a chance to try them on first, this is the case with me. I bought the size I use for most shoes & K2's and these are like a whole size too large & fit very loose. I am very dissatisfied with this because now I can not return them since they have been used & they do not fit properly like sport equipment needs too. Higher end K2's should be made available in stores to avoid this hassle. Now I have to buy another pair & once again hope that I can guess the right size. Very dissapointed with K2's marketing plan...

K2 Radical 90 Women's In-Line Skates Review

K2 Radical 90 Women's In-Line SkatesI am writing this review on behalf of my wife, who was the recipient of these skates. She was blading before I met her, and we've been together 20 years. Needless to say she is quite good, and has been through her fair share of skates over the years. Typically, I buy her a new pair every year. No more. These skates are the be-all, end-all. The brake was detachable, which made her happy beyond belief, and the skates even came with a more narrow replacement rear axle for proper wheel fit after the removal.

The wife is more of a figure-skating type; she puts her headphones on and forgets herself as she dances and grooves to the music. These skates give unparalleled fit and control, and the lowered cuff offers extended flexibility through the ankle, which increases control and speed. The fit and finish was superb, and the pictures you see on the 'net do nothing for how awesome these skates are in person. They even look like professional skates!

The best. Would wholeheartedly recommend! K2 rocks!

K2 Exo Mens Inline Skates Review

K2 Exo Mens Inline SkatesThe build quality is excellent (I compared in store to roller blade brand counterparts-- price for price these have far better quality).

The fit is excellent.

The styling is excellent.

The boot is comfortable, even after 100s of uses.(In the store I found it to be far more comfortable than roller blade brand and this really sold me).

They're midrange skates with a beginner feel to them. They can be easily upgraded to pure midrange skates.

The thing that makes them beginner friendly is that the wheels are soft.Wheels have a hardness rating, so in general softer wheels give you more grip and the skates feel less slippery, and your speed is actually restrained by this. For beginners, this is quite helpful. One downside is that soft wheels will appear to wear out quickly, but that stops after a few rotations and they begin to harden up a little bit. They actually lasted about 5 months for me under intense conditions.

In January, I started learning skating by doing small circles on the patio of my backyard.I taught myself, and some 9 months and a few upgrades later I'm hopping off curbs, skating backwards, and taking my dog (or he's taking me) on wild runs down steep hills.I've lost 60 lbs in 7 months doing this (I have been at an correct body weight for my size for more than 2 months now).

That doesn't mean these skates will do the work for you, of course. But I've found that I love skating, and so the weight just sort of fell off. While I'm not on a strict diet, I do watch what I eat and avoid foods that are obviously high calorie (sorry, there's no way around that -- it's a fact of life). I am still quite satisfied with what I eat and don't feel like I'm missing anything.I'm 32 years old, and I've got essentially, a 6 pack of abs for my efforts.I'm getting off topic, but I guess my point is that exercise *can* be fun.

I skate about 30 minutes to an hour a day, about 5 days a week. And these skates handle it.I've since replaced the factory wheels (due to simply wearing them down to nothing) and bearings with faster bearings (ABEC-7) and slightly larger and harder wheels for asphalt (80mm, 82a hardness). The result made them into performance skates on a budget. I am VERY hard on these skates, but the actual skates have held up well for 9 months.I may end up replacing them just because I have scuffed them up with my usage. But they are very durable, nonetheless and have no functional problems.

Feel free to shop around.Note that you can get substantial savings for getting last year's model. You can find the 2008 model for $70 at some places online. The differences, as far as I can tell, between 2007-2009 models of this skate are the colors and graphics.Everything else looks to be the same (down to the stitching). As time goes on it will be harder to find the older models in stock, for obvious reasons. But you might save about 35% by doing that. It's an incredible value. The ones I used (and still use) were the 2008 model of the K2 Exo, which had a silver on black look.

I look forward to trying more advanced models of K2 skates.

Youth Vapor Adjustable Inline Skates Review

Youth Vapor Adjustable Inline SkatesI gave these rollerblades as a gift and my nephew couldnt even stand up because the rollerblades had no grip and he just slid around and they were not safe. I contacted the seller and they contacted me back promptly but their return policy SUCKS! All I could get was a credit and they were going to charge me a %10 restocking fee if they didnt get the rollerblades back within 10 days of contacting me. Crappy product... even crappier return policy. Save your time and money... if you want cheap rollerblades that are at least safe, go to Wal mart or Targert.

K2 Marlee Inline Skates Review

K2 Marlee Inline SkatesBought these for my 8 year old daughter to replace her department store skates. What a difference in quality and workmanship. The high boot gives tons of ankle support, the wheels roll really well and she very quickly went from teetering down the street to zooming around the block. Good skates make a huge difference!

Rollerblade Men's NewJack Street Skate Review

Rollerblade Men's NewJack Street SkateI had quit skating for about 8 yrs. And I wanted to get back in the game with a nice pair. So after lots of research, I chose these. The price was unbeatable, and the skates are great. The frames are kinda simple but they are smooth, they'll grind anything with no problems. The linear is very soft and comfortable, and the style is just sick. So far the only thing I don't like is the weight, it is kinda heavy, not a brick, but they're solid. It's not ahuge "problem", and the young'ens with their strong legs prolly won't notice. But all around this is a prefect skate. I even got some ground control featherlite 2's for them and that lowered the weight a lil bit. But I kept my TRS frames cos they are great as well. If your looking for a new skate for a great price this is a great choice. And remember you can change the linear, wheels, frames, laces or whatever so they are customizable. And I've even heard that replacement parts are available, but I dunno where.

Tour Hockey Inline Cobalt 490 Hockey Skates Review

Tour Hockey Inline Cobalt 490 Hockey SkatesI've bought about 15 pairs of skates in the past 10 years for our ever growing family. We know about bearings, and I can rotate wheels, but this is our first pair of hockey skates for my 7 year old son who has been skating on quads for a year.I want him to get used to inline skates and possibly try roller hockey. They seem like a great deal for $[...], since I just bought artistic skates for my two girls which were $250 each with a leather boot. These skates have no velcro or buckle closures, they are strickly laces, like hockey skates usually are. And there are NO breaks, also normal for hockey skates (but I was hoping they'd be there and I could take them off myself when I was ready.)I like the "aircraft metal" truck and the bearings were fast and smooth.
