I was looking for a helmet that was certified to protect my brains. This helmet arrived and was called - a 'Hard Hat'- and that's pretty much all it was. it was not CPSC certified - nothing. it didn't meet a single bike helmet safety standard. Evidently there are 2 different styles of padding, but none of this information was listed on the product page. SO BEWARE - when you are ordering your helmet, make sure you are getting the features of a helmet that make it worth wearing!

Product Description:
Sometimes wearing a helmet can be a real drag. It can ruin your style. Feel too heavy. Dozens of other complaints arise. The Watts skate helmet by Bern is the solution to your issues. A top-shelf, best-in-show skate helmet that just happens to be light enough to go unnoticeable, the Watts meets all the criteria one might look for in a helmet - and more. Built as a hard hat with Brock Foam, a new head protection option for athletes not into wearing helmets, this multiple impact breathable foam keeps you cool and dry, allowing air to flow in all directions. The Watts also features the Sinch fit, a low-profile surrounding fit and feel, so constantly adjusting your helmet doesn't become an issue. EPS hard foam meets the snow and ski protection standards, and with the removable knit liner this Bern helmet protects your dome in summer too (you know, for skating and biking). It can get hot out there so Bern has installed full-time vents to help you maintain a cool head temp throughout the day. Another great feature is the Watts two foam construction, a waterproof EVA comfort foam and a patented multiple impact Brock foam that do not harbor moisture and dries quickly after each session, an excellent feature to have when you are out there working hard. So, if you are ready to start protecting your dome and still look cool, try the Bern Watts and skate with confidence. . Model Year: 2010, Product ID: 188516
